Abstract:

Throughout history, much of the built heritage has disappeared as a result of natural disasters, armed conflicts or simply by neglect. Many of these assets, in addition to their intrinsic value, are important as significant elements within the cultural identity of a collective.

A systematic and in-depth study can lead to a sufficiently reliable virtual reconstructive hypothesis, and becomes a very powerful tool that allows extending the studies to various scientific fields.

The work presented takes as a model the restitutive hypothesis of the Murta Monastery in Alzira. The abandonment caused its ruin until to the almost complete disappearance. From a multidisciplinary study has been established the virtual reconstruction of the complete volumetry and the most significant elements of the building. The geometric reconstructive hypothesis has been the instrument base to extend the study to various fields, such as the constructive and structural ones, or the acoustic behavior of the temple.

The translation of the results to the video format facilitates, without losing the scientific level, its dissemination outside the purely academic, allows to return the full sensory perception of the building and reinforces both the interest in the asset and the affective bond of the population linked to it.

Keywords: virtual reconstruction, historic heritage, survey, structure behavior, acoustic, video.
